Peculiars. They'd always set up their cities in downright peculiar locations. He knew he was half peculiar and should probably have remembered some snippet of this place, having half his heritage come from here, but try as he might the expansive forest held no familiarity to him. Having spent most his time in the Human realm of Newtopia, a stark contrast could be drawn up immediately upon crossing the borders. For one, this place seemed a lot less hospitable than the former land he had traversed from. Secondly, he hadn't met anybody on this side of the continent. Not that he really minded, he enjoyed his solitude. It sure as hell beat getting stared at all the time back in the city. Hell, it was like they'd never seen a Half-breed before. The man fumed to himself as he pushed through the brush.
"Goddamn forests with their goddamn branches housing their goddamn mosquitoes." A hand slapped his neck where there had been a tingle a moment before. "There wasn't a mosquito anywhere in the kingdom and they show up here of all places." He lifted a foot higher than normal only to come crashing down on a branch that may have tripped him before, the wood crunching beneath his foot. Why, one might ask, was here out here? Well, having spent his first week trapped in the Human lands, having accrued enough experience to be level 2 he'd decided that exploring the world he was in was his first objective. He was half Peculiar so he'd imagined that he might find something to spark his memory with. So far, the only thing he remembered was that he hated mosquitoes. Hardly a revelation at that.
Had he paid more attention back in the town bordering the forest, he may have heard rumors of rogue players killing off other players for sport. The forests had been turned into a killing grounds... and he was strolling right in the middle of a war-zone without even realizing it.

'Stay away', they said. 'It's Dangerous,' they said. Bah! Didn't they know by now that sying such things will only entice her further. Supposedly, this place was supposed to have some sort of weird mysterious allure to it's serenity; something creepy that eveyone knew should be avoided. So far, the only definitively wrong thing about this place that Leeryc could find was Boredom[/b'.
....And Mosquitos.
Leeryc sat indian style in a tree, left to her own thoughts. Thoughts such as, 'How the hell did I get up here?' 'How the hell am I balancing like this?!' 'How the hell do dolphins sleep under water?' 'If dolphins and penguins both eat fish, does that make them rivals?' 'If penguins mate for life, DOES THAT MEAN THEY'VE LEARNED TO LOVE?!'
Leeryc shook her head aggressively, trying to knock the questions away from her mind. Clearly, she spent way too much time lost in her own head. She needed to find someone or something to interact with. Or piss off. That could work too....
Things like that mosquito, there. The one flying ever closer to her arm as she was still again. As it approached sh raised a hand, ready to show it what it was instore for. The only thing currently breaking the silence of this moment was herself, letting out an ambitous "Hiiighwaaay tooo thee DANGERZONE!"
Aaaand... SMACK! Gotcha.....Uh oh.
Leeryc could here the unpleasant sound of the brach breaking under the shifted weight. She wasn't extremely high up, thankfully not enough that the character would die from the fall. Espescially as she seemed to land on something soft. Like another body....
Rolling herself off of the other character, another song escaped her. "What do I say when it's all over. And sorry seems to be the hardest word."

The young man's trod never slowed, even as the beaten path disappeared from time to time. Every once in a while, he could make out a monster in the form of a carniverous plant, or even a giant spider scurrying through the trees. It was his good fortune that he hadn't been forced into combat with anything. They hadn't seen him and he had no wish to pick fights in unfamiliar territory where he didn't need to. This, however, didn't mean that trouble didn't have a way of looking for him. His eyes widened as he heard something break overhead. He froze to the spot, almost afraid to look upward yet knowing instinctivly that something had happened. In a flurry of motion and a jolt of impact, something sent him crumpling to the ground. an "Oof" escaped him as the wind was knocked out of him, landing on his stomach and something heavy landing on his back. His chest hurt as he lay winded for a moment, stunned into silence before feeling the-- whatever it was-- shift its weight on him.
As soon as the weight had let up, he took the opportunity to scurry from undernieth it before rolling over and holding out a hand. Golden data shimmered into existance, materializing the gunblade that was his weapon, the blade pointing at-- the woman. Zero was more than a little confused by whatever she'd said. She'd said something, but it sounded a little off. He hadn't been ready to hear her start singing out of the blue and had missed whatever it was she was trying to say.
"Who..?" The question started from his lips, his look stern. Though he lowered the weapon, it remained in his hand. "Who are you?" He sat up, thinking that he might have a permanent butt printed on his back after that stunt. "You know, scratch that." He sighed, raising a hand to brush a strand of bang out of his eyes which fell promptly back. "The better question would be-- why were up in a tree in the first place?" He looked upward to check the damage. There wasn't a lot to say other than it had been a bit of a tumble. He looked back to her, working out what it was she had said before. In truth, she'd more sang it, but the message was the same. "Well-- you could always try saying sorry anyway." He countered hotly, still a little rattled in his near death experience. He'd seen people gutted by swords, but death by butt sounded far more humiliating.
She was-- how could he say it? She looked different than himself, though she bore a beauty that betold her race. She was a peculiar, but by looks alone, there was nothing so peculiar about her. It was only at this moment that he realized his hood had been knocked down in the fall and that his face was exposed. His eyes widened and he drew in a breath as he scrambled with his hood, his face turning a little red in the process. He calmed down a little once his barrier was in place, protecting him from her peircing eyes. "Zero. I'm Zero." He introduced himself. He felt his face burn. Why was he so bad at introductions..?

Leeryc reached her hand to his, thinking at first he was offering to help her up. She swiftly pulled it back at the realization that he was summoning his weapon. Scooting another foot away from the man, she did her best to scramble to her feet. Well, wasn't he jumpy? And inquisitive, for that matter. She always hated when people asked her to many questions. It was bad enough that she couldn't speak normally. How the hell was she going to answer a question a bout what she was doing in a tree?!
And there in was the problem. Leeryc rather enjoyed the company of others over being by herself. But communication was extremely difficult. Apparently most people that made Peculiars were even more stuck up than she was, as among this region, she had already been branded a misfit of sorts. Then again, that could have more to do with her continuous trickery.
As to his questions...
Answering them would not be easy. But she would try. Hell, only moments ago, she'd been asking herself why she was up in the tree. What was she going to tell him? As Leeryc combed her hands through her messed up hair to straighten it back out, she looked up at the tree. After a moment or two of trying to decide what she was doing, she settled with resting her eyes back on this stranger, smiling and offering him a care-free shrug of the shoulders.
But that wasn't the end of things. He seemed ill tempered. He currently didn't strike her as one of the player killers that supposedly roamed this area. If he had been, he'd have killed her by now, right? Right. Although it did seem suspicious that he was so quick to cover up his face. Or at least, it would be a matter of suspicion in the real world. Here it wasn't truly that uncommon. At any rate, he seemed a bit sore at her half apology. Leeryc rolled her eyes.
But then he introduced himself. 'Zero,' the name was? Not a terrible name, she supposed. And she was almost amused by the way he stumbled over his introduction. But now there was a challenge. Her name. Leeryc looked around for a moment, finally snapping a twig from the broken branch and proceeded to attempt drawing her name in the dirt. The entire time, she was still trying to think of away to apologize. Unfortunately, what came out, didn't exactly have all the right wording. Oh well. If he didn't think her strange already,he would soon.
"I'm sorry I'm bad, I'm sorry you're blue I'm sorry about all things I said to you And I know, I cant take it back I love how you kiss, I love all your sounds And baby, the way you make my world go round And I just wanted to say, I'm sorry...."
Some of the wording caused her own cheeks to blush slightly, embarrassed and a little irritated. When she finished, both Leerys hands covered her mouth. Stupid Buck Cherry...
Oh well. Good thing she wasn't obsessed with making friends, right?
